Anyone know how to use a Vivitar 35 light meter?
I recently found a Vivtar 35 light meter in my camera’s case, but have no idea how to use it. It would be extremely helpful to me because I don’t have the money or means to replace my camera’s current dead light meter battery at the present moment and need a quick fix to my problem so I can achieve the photographs I am looking to take.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I should be pretty straight forward; set the ASA of the film you are using, aim the meter at the subject, press the activation button and then look at the reading. When you match the reading to the shutter speed and aperture index, you will see all the possible settings that will give you a proper exposure.

how can i install a Pny 2Gb flash card in a Vivitar Vivicam 4090 ?
when i do so, all i get on the viewing screen is E53, don’t know what it means, but when it does, i can’t power off or do anything with the buttons, i have to open the battery compartment to switch off the power, i’m trying to set up the camera for my grand-daughter,she had for a christmas present, can anyone help.
I’m not really sure what the problem is, so I’ll just run through a few troubleshooting tips.
1. Make sure that the memory card is compatible with the camera. The two key compatibility issues that you need to address are card type and capacity (for example; SD card up to 2GB in size). Through some quick research I have found that the Vivitar Vivicam 4090 uses SD cards up to 2GB.
2. Some SD cards have a built-in ‘lock’ to stop them working to prevent accidental data loss. You must make sure that this is in the unlocked position before trying to use the card. The lock is usually accessed by using a small lever on the edge of the card.
3. Make sure that the camera is turned OFF before, and during, inserting the SD card.
4. Make sure that the SD card is inserted in the correct orientation. There should be more information on how to insert the SD card in the manual, or a very small instruction printed next to the SD card slot. The way that you verify the orientation of an SD card is the single ‘missing’ corner on the card.
5. If the steps above do not work, and the card is clean from any debris on the metal contact points (small vertical strips at the top of the card), then, most likely, there is a problem with either the SD card or the actual camera. You should seek technical support from the company that you purchased these items from (not the manufacturer of the items, unless you bought them directly).
