Sometimes the 24mm end isn’t really wide enough on a cropped sensor dSLR. If you need the range but don’t need a constant aperture have a look at the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-f4.

If you prefer a constant aperture over range then have a look at the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8.
