can i use a polarizer and an ND filter at the same time? will it cause any unwanted outcomes?

using a Circular Polarizer and a Neutral Density 8 filter at the same time?
is it too dark for slow shutters?

Yes you can but they work differently. A polarizer cuts glare by allowing light to enter the lens in a straight direction (light enters in different direction). An ND filteris like sunglasses on a camera. The effect of both is that they starve the camera of light and the camera will compensate by takinga foto with a slow shutter speed to allow more light to enter.

I assume you are using both to decrease the shutter speed. A sunset on a beach would be a great shot.

Polarizer Filter Glue Removal?

I’m taking off the polarized film off an old lcd screen but it has a glue on the side touching the glass. From what I’ve read, it’s some sort of optical pressure sensitive glue. What I want to know is: how do you remove the glue?

Has anyone tried or done this before? I’ve tried acetone on smaller strips, but it can damage the plastic with just a bit of too much pressure or leaving it on for more than a few seconds, a risk i definitely don’t want to take.

I also tried Goo Gone, but it hardly does anything, it would take several tries to take the glue off, if it does.

Anyone know how I could remove that type of glue of the polarized film?

Is that what you trying to do cuz it says: “If you remove the polarizer film from the glass the LCD WILL NOT WORK! (Well actually it will work, but you will barely be able to see the image)”
